SPANISH INQUISITION RETARDED?

In an attempt to appease Al Queda, Spain decided to try the Bush administration for war crimes (torture) in their courts. I personally welcome this action but under the following conditions:

1. Investigate and punish Al Queda first, after all - if water-boarding is torture then so are be-headings (although shorter in duration, a lot more painful and usually permanent).

2. Investigate and punish Al Queda for using children as soldiers, using civilians as suicide bombers, killing innocent civilians all around the world, killing civilians in the middle East for converting to Christianity, killing missionaries, aide workers and innocent Muslim bystanders in markets, on busses and trains.

3. Investigate and punish radical Muslim clerics for radicalizing, recruiting and training young Muslim men in Europe and the USA to commit acts of terror against westerners world-wide.

4. Investigate and punish radical Muslim immigrants for underage marriage, poligamy, wife beatings, wife and daughter "honor" killings on US and European soil along with trying to take over western societies by introducing Islamic (Sharia) Law instead of respecting host nation laws.

Once this is accomplished, then and only then may Spain begin proceedings against the Bush administration for playing loud rock music to sleep deprive detainees and dunking their heads in water (water-boarding).

Personally, I would consider investigating Spain for capitulation and high treason for the benefit of Al Queda. As punishment, I would throw them out of the European Union and NATO.

You sir, are... (INSULT). Do you think for a second that music torture and water torture is all that went on - and still goes on in camps such as guantanamo? Seriously go f... yourself. yeh sharia law is kinda strict but how many American muslims do you know who follow them to the letter? it's just the same as Christianity; religion has become so watered down that it will cease to thrive within this millenium. oh. did i mention your seed should be wiped from this earth in an incredibly painful way? (THREAT). by the way. try water torture some time... you might not find it incredibly pleasant

Looks like a "live one" complete with insult, death threat and all.

This comment clearly goes against the self imposed ban on personal attacks and civility, but for such a true desert warrior, I decided to make an exception (had to edit out the insult though) in the interest of getting a real discussion going on (not that "wiping out someone's seed in the most painful way" is a relevant exchange of opinion).

To the questions raised however, here are some of my personal answers. I never said "water-boarding" was a pleasant experience. I don't need to try it either and take your word for it that it must be painful. Let's just say its less painful and less permanent than chopping off limbs or be-headings.

On religion: I think we can all agree that any religion shouldn't always be followed to the letter when it commands us to kill. All religions have good morals and values to impart that most people choose to disregard.

Guantanamo Bay is very different from Abu Ghraib in that Guantanamo was built to be visible, accessible by human rights groups and better monitor the behavior of prisoners and guards. Abu Ghraib was more of a traditional prison that was hidden, abusive, unchecked, crowded and a real health hazard.

This of course doesn't make Guantanamo a picnic, just a better and cleaner facility. You say "camps such as Guantanamo"... Are there more of such camps? I am not aware on any other camps modelled after Guantanamo but if you are, please send us a link with some information (...and this time please hold the gratuitous personal insults and death threats, OK?).
