A BOSTON CREDIT CARD PARTY
Writing to your public officials is a great way to voice your concerns. I don’t want to voice my concerns - I want action. but if you expect action from your public officials - the very ones who took bribes from banking lobbyists to allow things to get this bad in the first place - then don’t forget to write to Santa too.
If enough consumers cut up their credit cards after duly canceling them, then we will create a free market demand - namely a demand for lower rate credit cards. Until then, hasta la carta baby!
By the way, when you cancel, make sure you tell the representatives the reason why you are canceling (unacceptably high interest rates) and make sure they note your reasons in their records.
We all have our own bullshit stories to justify why we even have credit cards in the first place (mostly for emergencies, so we say), but the trouble and ruin they lead to is far worse than an emergency itself.
Now get out a pair of scissors and start cutting…cut, cut, cut! Boston Tea party Style.
